The emblematic symbol of the Apulian tradition is the LUCKY PUMO. Its term derives from the Latin and means fruit , in honor of the cult of the Goddess POMONA , protector of all fruits. Ancient legends narrate that the pumo , which represents a bud of the Acanthus flower, is a symbol of prosperity and fecundity . Over time it has therefore become an auspicious object, a good luck charm in defense from evil . For this reason it is still made today by Apulian craftsmen in many versions and colors and can be found on the balconies and cornices of the buildings.
